Oral Surgeries Made Comfortable with Sedation Dentistry

Augmentation of the ridge

After extracting a tooth, ridge augmentation is conducted to reconstruct the gum line. This procedure entails placing a bone graft directly into the area where the tooth used to be, aiding in the restoration of the natural shape of the gums and jawline. Since a patient's jawbone tends to deteriorate following tooth extraction, dentures are frequently inserted immediately to prevent further deterioration. By doing so, significant and long-lasting benefits can be achieved.
Ridge augmentation surgery often provides patients with the following benefits:
  • Improve a patient's health, appearance, and self-esteem.
  • Recreates a natural bone and gum ridge
  • Improves aesthetic appearance
  • Increases stability for long-term function and oral health
  • Reduces gaps between the gums and dental restorations

Tooth Extractions

At Van Dyken Family Dentistry, we offer both emergency and planned dental extractions to cater to each patient's specific requirements. Our services include simple extractions for teeth above the gum line and surgical extractions if necessary. In cases where the tooth is irreparably damaged, also known as endodontic treatment, simple extractions are performed. Prior to any procedure, our dentists conduct a thorough dental examination and take X-rays to evaluate the extent of the damage.
